Re: Is Knowing Local Language necessary?

Everywhere that I know of, there doesn't seem to be a local language requirement. Anyway, possibly one reason is that it would lower a number of people available. I mean, they have a tough time finding people as it is.

Re: Balance between work and home

I think a really dedicated teacher won't mind doing some homework, so to speak, just like his/her students. Nonetheless, I think at some point the teacher can catch up and finally have enough time for personal business, maybe even personal business that is fun - like say, a vacation or something. I ...

Re: What do you enjoy doing most as a Teacher

I enjoy the relationships with the kids. I mean, it's like what this other teacher I know said. In other words, it's worth it for the kids - despite the low pay (as compared to many other professions).

The left wing can be self righteous too.

No doubt that the left can be similar to the right in this case. For instance, their insistence on forcing people to go green or perhaps avoid soda drinks is beyond annoying. I don't think a lot of their rules really make a difference.

Self Righteous People

A lot of people are preachy and bossy and supposedly what they say is for your own good; however, though, it's all in a condescending spirit of self-righteousness. For instance, if the right-wing radio host, Michael Savage, says the bums in San Francisco need to get a job, then well, what he says so...

The Teaching Wage in Thailand

Do you feel the wage is worth it? What are some things in Thailand which make up for the lower wage? Well, one thing would be just the fact a person might just like Thailand. :)

Re: Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?

You can always boil the water like you'd do if you were on some camping expedition. Also, does anyone think purifying solutions would be cheaper than bottled water? What are the cheapest and/or best solutions and what about some machine which does it?

Re: Racist Reactions of People Back Home

I think racism is a way for people to hide their insecurities and indifference. People would actually resort to hating the other regardless of color if they feel threatened or feeling less superior. They would rather be discriminating than to accept the fact that they are insecure. Hence the strong...

The Health Police

Some people who are obsessed with health are seen as tyrannical, mainly because they try to force their unreasonably healthy ways on others. For instance, they might look at a person consuming a soda pop as someone consuming nuclear fallout . :) However, though, some stuff they would hate is actuall...

Re: What do you think it's the hardest thing about moving to another country?

I think the disorientation thing is the hardest (for most people) cause your a "fish out of water". However, though, many people deal with the problem by drinking and others by prayer. Anyway, it's not something that cannot be overcome. Myself, I adjusted fairly well overseas (in a sense),...
