Re: Who is to be blamed?

It is hard to pinpoint the blame without understanding the specific situation involving the students. I would say here are the list of factors which might cause the performance of the student to be sub par. 1. Student - Individual behavior might be an issue. Perhaps the student is unwilling to put i...

Re: Trouble with the Law

I guess you have to be a really huge menace and did a crime to be jailed in Thailand.Insulting the king or even ferrying drugs would be enough to land you in jail. Most of the time, things can be resolved at the police station.

Re: Top 10 things to do in Thailand

One of the things which I like to do in Thailand is to take a fish spa in Thailand. This soothing experience helps remove impurities and dead skin from your feet.I love to shop at Chiang Mai as well. It is a fun and vibrant environment there.

Re: Homework

I personally think that homework is necessary to help students grow. However, I do not encourage pure repetitive exercises among the students. I try to give some mini projects to help them have a goal and achieve the project step by step. Sometimes, learning topics does not translate to actual usage...

Re: Co-teachers with a Grudge

I think the best way is to talk it out and resolve the issue at the earlier stage itself using a third person or someone in a higher power. The problem can be resolved by coming to a conclusion on mutual understanding and helping each other. This will also be an example for the children and inspire...

Re: Getting the Students to Talk

Yes, we cannot do this too often. However, this step should be able to kickstart some enthusiasm from the students. The shy ones will take some time to adjust. This is why we need to make the effort to create an interesting and interactive environment for them to learn and participate. It all depend...

Re: The Health Police

I do not like these people who impose their habits on others. I mean this is a personal choice and we should have our own freedom to eat what we want without being commented upon.

Re: Favourite beach in South East Asia

I love the beaches at Redang island in Malaysia.Snorkeling is a great activity here; if you are lucky, you might even see some sea turtles. Redang island is famous for its turtle sanctuary, the turtles usually lay their eggs on Turtle Beach on the north of the island.

Re: What did teaching teach you?

Teaching taught me that no one individual is the same. We have to learn to push and motivate students to be the best and yet make it enjoyable. I have seen some teachers trying to give their students shortcuts but this will impact their learning. We need to teach in a smart way and consider what ski...
