Re: Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?
In general tap water is not safe to drink in Thailand. The water that is pumped out is safe to drink, however it is the pipes that make it unsafe. I know some people that do drink the water and don't get sick. Not everyday of course, just when they are too lazy to go to Seven Eleven to buy water. Br...

Re: Cheapest and safest mode of transport
The cheapest and safest mode of transportation are buses, but they are not convenient. They are safe because they are always full of people and they don't drive fast, but you don't wanna be stuck on a bus during Bangkok traffic jams. I would say just go for taxi's, they are not expensive around $10 ...

Re: Best hotel to lodge in Thailand
I can't recommend a Hotel by name. However, I'll tell you this, 5 stars doesn't mean five stars. All the star ratings are irrelevant in Thailand, my suggestion is to never book your whole trip in one place, rather book a couple of days and once you are there you will find something better and cheape...

Re: Are clothes expensive in Thailand?
A lot of clothes are made in Thailand so they will be very cheap. Counterfeit brands are also widely available for cheap. Big companies such as Nike have factories in Thailand and if you know the right people/places you can get authentic Nike gear for very cheap. Bangkok is actually a destination fo...

Re: What do you think it's the hardest thing about moving to another country?
I would say the hardest thing about moving to a new country is the first three months. If you can get through your first three months then you'll be good for a year or 2. Then the hardest thing becomes going back home.

Re: Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?
No, tap water is not safe to drink in Thailand. Bottled water is available everywhere and is very affordable, generally costing 7 Baht per bottle. If you have not been to a 3rd world country before I wouldn't recommend using tap water to brush your teeth either. Give it a couple of weeks. I don't th...

Re: How did you find this forum?
I actually was researching about Thailand. I very much want to visit Thailand to live there for about a month and train Muaythai in Camp Tiger. My Muaythai coach goes there every summer and I want to go with him next time, or maybe even in winter, but I have heard that winter is not the best time t...

Re: The Hiring of the Unqualified
I think this has become a major problem in a lot of places and it has become a common problem in many places. In my school there are so many young teachers without prior teacher training were recruited because to fill up the vacancy and pressure from the education board. They were not worried about...

Re: Thai Meals and total cost per day?
If you are living in Thailand and not staying in tourist areas then I got some numbers for you. 1. A plate of rice and some stir fried vegetables would be 30-50 Baht. 2. A bowl of noodles and meat would be 40-60 Baht. 3. A general plate consisting of rice vegetables and meat + fried egg (yes fried ...
