Re: What's the youngest of kind group you've taught?
After high school as I was waiting to join college I volunteered to teach in a high school. Teaching teenagers is not an easy thing. You really have to be patient. They get mean at times and if you are a sensitive person then you wouldn't make it as a highschool teacher.

Re: Trouble with the Law
I think you should always be street smart and aware of your surroundings. Don't let people goad you into fights or situations where things can get twisted and you get blamed being the foreigner. It is easy to stay out of trouble, but once you get into trouble in Asia, especially in Thailand, you ar...

Re: What do you think it's the hardest thing about moving to another country?
Nothing is easy at all with moving to another country. The most difficult thing is adapting to the new culture. This means learning the new language, eating totally new dishes that might not be pleasant in the very first days. Making friends will be a task as well. Moving around in a new environment...

Re: Keeping myself safe
I live in a very safe place. I know some cities of Asia are not that safe. Bangkok it's one of them. I have heard that night life is not so safe. I would like to know about other people's experiences. There has to be a little insecurity at least in almost every other place. Even in developed countr...

Re: How do you connect with students from other cultures?
The most easy way to connect with student from a different culture is by showing interest in their culture. You could show interest my asking questions about how they do things in their country. Talk a little about how different it is from your culture. However , do not make negative comments on oth...

Re: Class brat (and their parents)
I have been a victim of dealing with such people. My entire high school life I felt like I never belonged anywhere. I schooled in a school where almost every other kid was from a rich background. I wasn't from a rich background, this made my social life a hell. I talked to my parents to get me to a ...

Re: Getting the Students to Talk
Not everyone is social. Some students might not be shy but totally not social. These students won't talk if you don't talk to them first. The best thing to do with such students is to understand who they really are. Do not expect to to start a conversation , do it instead to give them an easy time w...

Personal safety in Thailand
You will see people getting attacked and harassed in Thailand just like you see in any other developed country. We all know in today's world police are not dependable if not paid a little something. So, the best thing to do is to always be cautious of your surrounding. While at your accommodation pl...

Re: The Hiring of the Unqualified
I think hiring the unqualified is a major problem that is affecting the world as large today. I have seen it happened in a case where a deaf interpreter had no idea of what he was interpreting. He had no idea on the sign languages and their meaning but he's was still hired on a national TV . This le...
