Re: Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?

On the link, they were discussing the possibility that the bottled water was a scam. Does anyone think it's just tap water put into a bottle? I mean, they said the taste of the bottled stuff wasn't unique.

Re: Political Problems with Your Homeland

I think a big problem lies in the fact certain people "rub it in". Note, that's why so many people have had bad experiences with other ethnic groups. I mean, for instance, some criticism is understandable, but again, is the situation of kicking sand in one's face. But you know, there is no...

Re: Racist Reactions of People Back Home

Ignoring it is a good idea. Nonetheless, you sometimes cannot escape the taunters. In fact, I even had to leave a church cause of rude teenagers. Now a church is an important place, a place you don't like being driven out of. I agree we can't ignore it all the time. There are cases when we have suc...

Trouble with the Law

Thai prison would be no joke and be far more uncomfortable than an American one. In fact, a foreign tourist going to a prison would be literally like going from Park Avenue to being homeless. Anyway, what steps can be taken to avoid a possible run-in with local police?

Problems with Living in Vietnam

I'm wondering if a person from the west can really feel at ease in a nation that technically isn't free. For instance, in Vietnam or China, for that matter, you might find that web surfing is heavily censored and who knows what other laws could land someone in hot water.

Re: Is tap water safe to drink in Thailand?

https://www.smartertravel.com/2017/02/23/water-bangkok-warnings-dangers/ The tap water is apparently dirty because of the fact the pipes are old and broken. In that case, the website even warns against ingesting it while brushing your teeth or taking a shower. Of course, this might be a bit extreme,...

Taking Sides in National Rivalries

In South Korea, teachers are often pressured to hate Japan and sometimes the US. However, though, some teachers might not have a beef against those nations. In that case, they will either ignore the situation or pretend to hate the said place because they want to be cool. However, though, the latter...

Re: Geography of Thailand

OK, there may be a strait between them or something. I will take a look at it when I have some time. Unlike the inhospitable Bering sea, I guess travel by boat might be able to be done between countries..but I am assuming passport checks would be done at some point! I think Thailand would be very i...

Re: The Theme

I understand OP's feelings on this. The theme can be better. However, it is best that we have a poll with regards to the theme to see what other forums think of the current theme. I love simplicity so the current theme works for me.It is pretty easy on the eyes although it is a bit bland. I cannot ...

Re: Racist Reactions of People Back Home

I'd ignore racism. We have come long way from stereotypes around the world. Never make your opinion based on what you see on TV. As you can guess this has only made it worse for each other. We should ignore racism as much as possible. More we pay attention to this the more it increases. Stereotypes...
