Re: Keeping myself safe

It's heavily in the interest of bars, hotels etc. to make sure you're not ripped off or robbed. In that case, they would make all efforts to protect you and your money. Why wouldn't they? Unless, of course, the businesses were in on it, :) but that's highly unlikely.

Re: Profile photo

Go to Profile in the drop down menu under your name (in the top right-hand corner of the forum). Next, click on the link which says Edit Profile. Finally, a thing for editing an avatar will be on the left side menu. That's all that is needed. However, one problem that might come up is the photo siz...

Re: Trouble with the Law

It's highly unlikely that a tourist would get arrested in Thailand - unless they were really asking for it. Well, for one thing, a tourist is highly valuable to the economy. In that case, bars, hotels and the like will do all they can to protect him/her and thier money.

Re: Taking Sides in National Rivalries

The South Korean government forcing or maybe taking sides with teachers to hate Japan has actually some historical basis in it. I think it's a way of how the government is voicing out it's grievances against passed atrocities committed against it's people by Imperial Japan's occupation of Korea dur...

Re: Tackling beliefs

I was in this phase where I was a born again Christian and I ran into this western atheist in South Korea (a co-teacher). He was really throwing it at me. However, though, this hate was mostly political I think, masquerading as religious. Anyway, he was angry cause W. Bush won the election and W. Bu...

Re: Pampered Foreigners and Ridiculous Complaints

In another forum website where I am posting, there's a blogger who is an American, posting his link to his blog and then expressing his hatred towards Filipinos. His blog was called "Philippine Fail". The owner is an expat in the Philippines. The articles and forum posts were mostly insin...

Re: Political Problems with Your Homeland

I saw a blog from an Australian and other foreigners complaining about Philippines, as well as their hate towards the country's current president who has high approval rate of 82% from the citizens. The president was much loved by the majority. But the mainstream media has been demonizing him. And ...

Re: How to deal with bullies

A better way to deal with them is to simply project a strong image. In other words, a kid who is involved in sports or some sort of exercise is less likely to be bullied. Note, this is sort of like how nuclear weapons are a deterrent against an actual war - a thing called "Mutually Assured Dest...

Re: Class brat (and their parents)

From what I've heard from another poster (on another forum), it seems to be the case that in her country, certain rich kids get away with whatever they want - because the teacher is afraid their parents will cause them to be moved to a bad location. That's pretty pathetic in my view. :x I wonder if ...
