Re: Thai Meals and total cost per day?

If you are living in Thailand and not staying in tourist areas then I got some numbers for you. 1. A plate of rice and some stir fried vegetables would be 30-50 Baht. 2. A bowl of noodles and meat would be 40-60 Baht. 3. A general plate consisting of rice vegetables and meat + fried egg (yes fried e...

Re: Is Knowing Local Language necessary?

In my experience knowing the local language is not necessary at all when it comes to doing your job as an English teacher. Re: Retiring in Thailand

It really depends on what you mean by decent and what lifestyle you're used to. I would say you can live very comfortably for around $1,500 a month. Your biggest expense will probably be entertainment if you like to go out. Rent is $250-500(very fancy) in BKK. $300-400 for food and the rest is whate...

Re: Is nightlife allowed for a serious teacher?

It really depends on what kind of job you have. If you are teaching for a language school then there is no problem with going out and getting wild. Language schools are usually located in city centers and busy areas so people don't really know each other. On the other hand, if you are working for a ...
