Racist Reactions of People Back Home

A traveler to Asia is sometimes met with hate back home. Anyway, the there could be many motives like just plain and simple racism, jealousy, and some sort of projection. So should this stuff be ignored? Note it can be quite vicious. In fact, I was shocked about how racist people are in my home area of Tennessee, and that not all the racism is against blacks.

I'd ignore racism. We have come long way from stereotypes around the world. Never make your opinion based on what you see on TV. As you can guess this has only made it worse for each other. We should ignore racism as much as possible. More we pay attention to this the more it increases. Stereotypes about any specific guy from any specific nation should be ignored. This way we would be developing more tolerance in the region we live in instead of reacting to it, ignorance always helps.

There are definitely still stereotypical racists around. This is a common issue around the world today. People love to attribute and pin the blame on the other races. We should not tolerate this behavior and get influenced easily by media around us. Nowadays, I always try to take things with a pinch of salt especially when watching TV or listening to the radio. We need to accept that there is a degree of biasness in the information which we get.Never make judgements if you do not know the whole story.

Ignoring it is a good idea. Nonetheless, you sometimes cannot escape the taunters. In fact, I even had to leave a church cause of rude teenagers. Now a church is an important place, a place you don't like being driven out of.

I agree we can't ignore it all the time. There are cases when we have such experience with the work place too. For example, sometimes even the boss may turn out on stereotypes. Sometimes the people nearby house can be like this too. It's harder to manage people in that case. Sometimes ignoring and sometimes just talking about it can be helpful. It's tricky to handle all situations. Atleast that's how I am thinking in that direction.

I see what you're saying, but a lot of those types are very punk. So in that case, they cannot be reasoned with, only punished and/or avoided. Nonetheless, though, a boss might be a different matter - as his opinions might come from a different angle.

It would be stupid to let your life be destroyed by ignorant people. You should try your best to ignore it, because there is no cure for these type of people. We're in 2017 and guys who are stuck in 500 B.C. will remain there for the rest of their sad lives. I see racism everyday, I was a victim of it on the workplace and if things get out of hand ask for help or go to the police, it's the only way because these people are not reasonable.

Not necessary different angle though. I have seen unreasonable bosses. And they can have their own regional and social stereotype. So your point on either punished or avoiding is good. That's something most of the immigrants often do if they face issues. Some folks have their share of issues with the racism. But 5 years from now on I don't think there will be much issue with this I hope.

I think you are right. You just ignore those racist insinuations to avoid trouble with those people. Avoid those racists as much as possible. Don't ever talk back when they insinuate racist comments.
It's always better to be safe than sorry.

I am also from the South in the United States. Racism is a prominent issue where I live, and still, even to this day, mixed-race couples still get stares and ridicule. There is a bit of racism where I am from towards Asians and middle easterners, and people talk about how they steal jobs and opportunities from whites. All of this sickens me, and it makes me sad, quite frankly, for the human race. When are going to overall transcend as a species and become better beings?
